COOPERATION MAKES TRAPPING TASKS EASIER Trappers Report Once again I set off for Girasoles to catch a black tomcat who is the proud father of many kittens. I had already made several attempts, but each time I arrived with my trap, he eluded me, apparently knowing that I wanted to catch him. In the meantime, however, a young female kitten had reached the right age for neutering. When I arrived, I found the young kitten and her mother, who had recently given birth to a litter of kittens, waiting impatiently for food. I quickly prepared my trap with a tantalising lure. At first, both the mother and daughter rushed into the trap, prompting me to refill the trap. However, the mother soon chased her daughter away and devoured all the food herself. I refilled the trap again, but this time luck was on my side. The mum paused and waited outside so her daughter could go in and I was able to close the trap. I immediately covered the trap and put the daughter in a transport box. I set the trap aga...

BLACK PANTHER CAPTURED ON CUMBRE Trapper Report For over a year, one of our devoted caregivers had been attempting to capture a beautiful and extremely friendly black male CumbreCat named Panther in the Monte Cala zone. Despite numerous efforts, every strategy proved unsuccessful. Even when we tried to acclimate him to eating in a deactivated trap, Panther remained elusive. Other cats would wander into the trap, but Panther never did. Given that the caregiver could pet him, she decided to employ a homemade drop-trap to catch him. However, Panther was always cautious and circumspect whenever he spotted this contraption, skilfully evading it. Frustrated but determined, she reached out to me for assistance.  The breakthrough finally came when he wandered into her flat one morning, and she swiftly closed all the windows and doors, leaving Panther in a state of heightened stress. He attempted to flee through the bathroom windows, only to discover they were also closed, and the caregiver...

OCTOBER 4, 2023 - KITTEN RESCUE REPORT & RAINBOW REPORT

Hello, dear readers , My name is Pixie, and I'm a tiny CumbreCat.  I was born in early August in a garden in Pueblo de la Paz. One day, something unexpected happened. My mom started moving my siblings and me to a new place, but something went wrong, and I found myself tangled in the branches of a hedge.  I had just opened my eyes and couldn't see clearly yet. I could hear my siblings crying, but I couldn't locate them. I was cold and hungry, so I cried as loudly as I could, hoping that my mom would come for us. I don't know how long I hung there, getting colder, with no sign of my mom. Suddenly, I heard something big approaching, and fear gripped me. I tried to stay still and quiet. Then, something grabbed me and pulled me from the hedge. My brother was next to me, and we were wrapped in a warm blanket and taken to safety. The next few days are a bit of a blur; I was so weak and cold that I couldn't even drink. The lady named Sandra, who found me, took me to Sanju K...

LOVE BECOMES A MISSION OF DOMESTICATION Ah, love, the magical power that can transform even the wildest tails into heart-warming stories! In the enchanting realm of Dalias of Cumbre del Sol, lives a kind-hearted neighbour whose love of nature knows no bounds. When a pregnant CumbreCat mother was in need, this neighbour reached out to her with a hand of compassion and care. In the days of her pregnancy, the CumbreCat mother felt the warmth of his kindness, and when her three precious kittens saw the light of day, she couldn't wait to share her joy with her newfound friend. She paraded her adorable bundles of fur on his doorstep as if to say, "Look what we've created together!" But as so often happens, life also brought with it a touch of sadness. Two of the kittens mysteriously disappeared, leaving a void in the hearts of those who had cared for them. But amidst the uncertainty, a glimmer of hope emerged. This unspoken bond between the CumbreCat family and their guardi...

WHO IS THAT KITTY IN THE WINDOW?  Trapper Report: "Another new macho cat had appeared in the Olivos zone. Perhaps it had been abandoned, for it was very friendly and used to human touch. He started visiting my kitchen window and made a habit of coming every morning. These regular visits to the window led to another "kitchen window trapping opportunity" like I had done before. I set the trap with food, and he walked through the window straight into the trap, and we drove to the vet. He looked very scruffy and skinny, but Veronica, the vet, said he was fine. Nevertheless, I ordered a blood test at my own expense, just to be sure. It turned out that he was fine, and he was neutered and brought back early in the evening. Another window trapping completed!" *** R A I N B O W  BRIDGE Report from Gatos Felices "This evening we received a phone call from the local police, a cat was hit by a car. We hurried up to the location and rushed to the emergency vet. Unfortunate...
