Welcome
For Our CumbreCats
The Cumbre Cats Control Campaign is a Private Citizen Initiative created by a group of Concerned Residents from the urbanisation of Benitachell called Cumbre del Sol, Alicante, in June, 2020.
The group of combined residents created this Campaign in order to TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) the cats that have been abandoned by previous owners, for whatever reason.
The goal is to co ordinate directly with the local veterinarian in Benitachell (Alicante). The vet charges 65 euros for a female and 33 euros for a male to be neutered and eartipped.
The campaign is comprised of two teams of private community citizens - the trappers and the fundraisers.
A centralised PayPal account collects donations from private citizens in order to fund the humane neutering services by the veterinarian.
All cash donations are delivered to Centro Veterinario Verónica Català Pascual, who in return awards the Campaign with a Receipt of Payment in order to track all funds utilised for neutering services.
💗 OSITO was the Inaugural CumbreCat for this Campaign. 💗
This grey kitten, which was found by local resident Rebecca, had inflamed eyes. He was the first cat to be taken to Veronica the village vet on May 28, 2020. This event sparked the friendship and neutering campaign for the feral cat population on Cumbre del Sol.
On June 1, 2020 the CumbreCats Control Campaign and website was initiated.
On April 27, 2021, OSITO was a victim of a hit and run accident and the result of this negligent person ended his life. The driver just ran him over and didn't stop.
He will be missed.
