OCTOBER 4, 2023 - KITTEN RESCUE REPORT & RAINBOW REPORT
Hello, dear readers,
My name is Pixie, and I'm a tiny CumbreCat.
I was born in early August in a garden in Pueblo de la Paz. One day, something unexpected happened. My mom started moving my siblings and me to a new place, but something went wrong, and I found myself tangled in the branches of a hedge.
I had just opened my eyes and couldn't see clearly yet. I could hear my siblings crying, but I couldn't locate them. I was cold and hungry, so I cried as loudly as I could, hoping that my mom would come for us. I don't know how long I hung there, getting colder, with no sign of my mom.
Suddenly, I heard something big approaching, and fear gripped me. I tried to stay still and quiet. Then, something grabbed me and pulled me from the hedge. My brother was next to me, and we were wrapped in a warm blanket and taken to safety.
The next few days are a bit of a blur; I was so weak and cold that I couldn't even drink. The lady named Sandra, who found me, took me to Sanju Kitten Sanctuary. Sarah showed her how to care for us and provided supplies.
Since we couldn't drink properly, Sandra started feeding us with a tube every two hours, day and night. Despite her efforts, my brother didn't survive the next night.
Sandra and I didn't give up; she continued feeding me with a tube, treated me for fleas and worms, and took me with her everywhere. After a while, I started feeling much better.
I grew hungry, gained weight, and got to know my four new siblings, all adopted by Sandra from similar situations like mine.
Now, at six weeks old, I'm enjoying my new life, filled with cuddles and love. I explore the world, and my new siblings teach me how to be a proper cat. Since they've welcomed me so warmly, Sandra decided not to look for a new family for me, and I'm happily settled in my forever home.
The kind ladies from CumbreCats will capture my mom and have her spayed. Please always keep your eyes and ears open. If you spot pregnant cats or cats without an ear mark, report them to CumbreCats so they can be spayed. If you ever hear desperate cries for hours, please report that too. There might be another CumbreCat in distress, and you could help save its life.
As the colder season approaches, please also check for cats in your car's engine bay and listen for cries. Thank you for your help in keeping us alive, healthy, and possibly finding us loving homes and families.
Yours truly,
Pixie
