CumbreCats TNR and Rescue

The May was filled with different trappings.... for treatment for an elder sweet catlady what needed medical support. A big thank to the cat carers. A huge tomcat in Magnolias is now retired. A young female in Pueblo de la Paz is now neutered. And many thanks to a lovely cat carer, who trapped 3 young male and did all drives by her own . And we are very sorry that our Vet needed to put to sleep a very ill nice old female in Magnolias. R.I.P. dear soul.

In Begonias we could help an injured undone male. Finally he was entering the trap , treated and neutered. Also a young male kitten from Pueblo de la Paz is done. In Kalmias finally a white female has been trapped and neutered. In Pueblo de la Paz a further female has been caught for sterilisation. In Girasoles we have been lucky with a beautiful grey female. After many trials she entered the trap. And in Lirios a black and white young male is done now. Cat loving visitors helped an ill cat in MonteCala but sadly the friendly black cat had to be put to sleep. R.I.P. beautiful soul. Thanks a lot to all trappers and supporters.

And we can report that 2 females, 1 male have been trapped, neutered and released in MonteCala. Besides that we have been lucky in Kalmias. A young and an elder experienced macho are finally done, too. In MonteCala another macho could be trapped and neutered. Sadly we have to say that a beautiful already neutered female had to be put down because of different grave diseases. But finally the suffer had an end. R.I.P. sweet soul.

"Successful Rescue of a Young Kitten in Magnolias Zone" Trapper Report "At the end of September, a couple from the Magnolias zone, who love CumbreCats, asked for help in trapping a young kitten that had recently appeared. Since there were many cats in the area, I used a remote-controlled trap. The couple had not fed the cats the evening before or on the morning of the trapping, so we had a lot of hungry cats around. With the help of the cat feeder, who lured the already-neutered cats to another location with food, the inexperienced young kitten became so captivated by the tasty pieces inside the trap that he entered quickly. I was able to press the CLOSE button on the trap. However, his mother was smarter. From the start, she made a wide circle around the trap and showed no intention of being caught, so she remains on the to-do list. The cat feeders took the kitten to Veronica, the vet, which was a great help as they handled all the driving. They also refused a CumbreCat...

MONTE CALA HAS A NEW FAMILY  TRAPPER REPORT One of our part-time cat feeders in Monte Cala was informed by her neighbours about a new mother cat and her kittens. She went out, examined them all, and reported back to me. Together, we quickly devised a trapping plan. First, I focused on a mother cat with a very beautiful kitten that looked like a Siamese. As usual, the mother was black, like so many cats in that area.  Since the female cat was used to the feeder, who had fed her very little the evening before, the mother cat was quite hungry the next morning and already waiting when we prepared the trap. We used a remote-controlled trap because a few already neutered cats were hanging around. The feeder lured the others away with food, leaving the mother cat to enter the trap quickly. She was successfully trapped. Since we were already in this area, we decided to continue trapping. We set up both traps, the normal one and the remote-controlled trap, and then the waiting started....

Good morning, everyone. My name is Bear, and I live on Cumbre del Sol, a lovely mountain community in the province of Alicante on the Costa Blanca. My passport says my name is Osito, which I prefer because it sounds more regal, of course. However, Mom insists on calling me Bear or, even worse, Beary-Bear. But she loves me so much that I'm willing to live with the little names she comes up with. Don’t tell her, but I am very fond of her too for a number of reasons. If she knew, I would probably never hear the end of it. My story began about eight years ago, more or less. The vet wasn’t quite sure. I don’t consider myself a real senior, although I am starting to feel the weather changes and the cold winters in Spain in my bones.
