25TH SEPTEMBER, 2021, ARTS & CRAFTS INTERACTIVE EVENT & FUNDRAISER

The Event  The Fundraising Team from the CumbreCats Control Campaign, a  Private Citizens Initiative established in June 2020 to trap-neuter and return the wild and abandoned cats from the community, have joined forces with its community artists and crafters to bring together a very unique and exciting interactive fundraising event.  On Saturday September 25th, from 10 -  13:00, the Sports Area between the Padel and Tennis courts, will be the location where a variety of interactive creative events will be hosted, as well as a Tombola-style raffle, to aid the efforts and improve the lives of the CumbreCats. Meet & Greet Ariane Viselé , a resident of Cumbre del Sol and a creative ceramics soul. She will be giving a demonstration at our events and supporting the CumbreCats with sales of her creations. CELEBRATING THE ARTS & CRAFTS with EXHIBITIONS & WORKSHOPS - STARTING EARLY!!   When the CumbreCats fundraising team decided to host an open air Arts & Crafts event as a Community Fundraiser, we didn't know that the vibe would catch on so quickly!! But, here you have proof that our local artists are getting out ahead of the monthly events aimed at the last Saturday Mornings of the Month, starting in September 2021 at the Tennis Area and other spots to be announced.  Local Cumbre del Sol artist and crafter - Ariane, has been inspired by a grand Baroque masterpiece Las Meninas (The Maids) painted in 1656 by Diego Velázquez, the leading artist of the Spanish Golden Age. She has chosen to craft fantastic silhouettes of the Princess Margarita from clay and fire them in a spender of exotic glazes.  Cumbre neighbour Margaret fell in love with these creations and offered to buy one but Ariane wanted the money, 40 euros, to be forwarded to CumbreCats.  This is ki...

 FIT-STEPPERS DO IT WITH LOVE! Today, Tina, Marianne and myself met with the FitSteps Ladies who have a generous Benitachell-based leader by the name of Pam Small. Many folks in the community know of this lovely lady who fund raises for many causes while keeping in shape with lively dance moves disguised as exercise.  Pam gifted our group with a donation of 200 euros that will go towards our CumbreCats campaign. This money will be given to Veronica our village vet who will put it toward neutering the CumbreCats in the fall season.  I gave a little talk to the FitSteps Ladies about CumbreCats origin story and why we are on our own with this project. They all seem to understand the challenges that we endure and we do it at our pleasure for the well being of our local wild cats. Then, some of the ladies bought our Fundraiser Community Cookbooks.
