FUNDING REPORT - AUGUST 5, 2021

 FIT-STEPPERS DO IT WITH LOVE!

Today, Tina, Marianne and myself met with the FitSteps Ladies who have a generous Benitachell-based leader by the name of Pam Small. Many folks in the community know of this lovely lady who fund raises for many causes while keeping in shape with lively dance moves disguised as exercise. 

Pam gifted our group with a donation of 200 euros that will go towards our CumbreCats campaign. This money will be given to Veronica our village vet who will put it toward neutering the CumbreCats in the fall season. 


I gave a little talk to the FitSteps Ladies about CumbreCats origin story and why we are on our own with this project. They all seem to understand the challenges that we endure and we do it at our pleasure for the well being of our local wild cats. Then, some of the ladies bought our Fundraiser Community Cookbooks. This added to our total bringing it up to 240 euros.

It is the kindness of animal lovers such as these ladies that makes the lives of CumbreCats better. They are often abandoned cats or they were born on Cumbre, whatever their circumstances, we make sure that they have the best life possible. What goes around, comes around and Kindness Make the Best Solution All Around!

LETTER FROM BEAR - A Recipent of the CumbreCats Elder Cat Programme

Good morning, everyone. My name is Bear, and I live on Cumbre del Sol, a lovely mountain community in the province of Alicante on the Costa Blanca. My passport says my name is Osito, which I prefer because it sounds more regal, of course. However, Mom insists on calling me Bear or, even worse, Beary-Bear. But she loves me so much that I'm willing to live with the little names she comes up with. Don’t tell her, but I am very fond of her too for a number of reasons. If she knew, I would probably never hear the end of it. My story began about eight years ago, more or less. The vet wasn’t quite sure. I don’t consider myself a real senior, although I am starting to feel the weather changes and the cold winters in Spain in my bones. AUGUST 26, 2024 🐾 TRAPPING & WATER REPORT 🐾

"Successful Rescue of a Young Kitten in Magnolias Zone" Trapper Report "At the end of September, a couple from the Magnolias zone, who love CumbreCats, asked for help in trapping a young kitten that had recently appeared. Since there were many cats in the area, I used a remote-controlled trap. The couple had not fed the cats the evening before or on the morning of the trapping, so we had a lot of hungry cats around. With the help of the cat feeder, who lured the already-neutered cats to another location with food, the inexperienced young kitten became so captivated by the tasty pieces inside the trap that he entered quickly. I was able to press the CLOSE button on the trap. However, his mother was smarter. From the start, she made a wide circle around the trap and showed no intention of being caught, so she remains on the to-do list.
