NOVEMBER 26, 2022 - TRAPPING & RAINBOW REPORTS
Our cat-loving lady from the Magnolia Zone was once again busy capturing the remaining CumbreCats from her little colony. She caught two females and three males
We all thank her from the bottom of our hearts. Her tireless love for the CumbreCats and her incredible support and dedication have translated into a fantastic reward, as she now finally has her entire colony under control. Bravo!

TABBY GOT TRAPPED
On Friday, November 18, 2022, the Camelias zone feeder, who keeps an eye out for new and or unsterilised CumbreCats, sent photos of new ones.
Trapper Report:
"We ventured out with the traps on a cool autumn morning. There were two identical-looking cats that kept dancing around the trap, eating the trail of delicious food.
Finally, the targeted cat, a pretty tabby female, went in. But she was smart and stepped over the trigger, ate all the bait and left the trap without releasing the spring. We continued to watch two traps and finally our patience was rewarded. She went in, and we closed the door of the remote trap on time.
We were on our way to the vet.
After the surgery, this CumbreCat was picked up and recovered at the home of our head trapper. After recovering from the anaesthetic, she was released back to the Camelias zone at feeding time to join her friends."

RAINBOW REPORTS
On Wednesday 23 November 2022, the Olivos zone feeder reported to the trappers that she had had her eye on the ailing CumbreCat for a while. The CumbreCat was a pretty girl, already spayed, with white and grey markings and came from a family of about 8 cats, all with the same pattern. The feeder remarked that the cat was losing weight quickly and was no longer eating solid food. She also noted to the trappers that the CumbreCat only came out at night and never in the morning.
Trapper Report:
"This CumbreCat knew the traps too well and after many failed attempts, new tactics were employed. A modified washing basket finally did the job
We spotted the sick cat and managed to lure it to a good smelling wet food. When she had calmly eaten, she was quickly covered with the laundry basket. From here she was transferred to a transport basket and from there to a large holding cage where she was to spend the night
The holding cage is equipped with a litter tray, food, water and a comfortable blanket. When everything is covered, it is a safe place to spend the night until we can go to the vet in the morning.
The next morning, our head trapper helped transfer her from the big cage back into the transport box, and from there it was off to the vet
On examination, the vet found that the cat was suffering from anorexia, a tumour and gingivitis. The only thing we could do for her was to end her suffering by euthanasia.
R.I.P. Little one, you are up there with the rest of your family now."

R.I.P to this young kitten, about 4 months old, was hit by a car in the Camelias area. The driver did not stop. The caretaker of the zone found her and informed us. One of our regular trappers took care of everything.
If you see a CumbreCat being run over, please contact us immediately. We thank you. ❤
