The week prior, a German cat enthusiast reached out to me seeking assistance. A black mother cat, who had previously delivered four kittens, was found pregnant again. Concerned about the timing, I promptly scheduled a trapping appointment. Despite the kittens being approximately 11 months old, none were pregnant, though it was the breeding season.
During the trapping session, identifying the gender of the all-black kittens proved challenging. Eventually, one bold male kitten proudly displayed his features, while another attempted to mate with the smallest in the litter.
The German woman, eager to help, followed my advice to withhold feeding, leaving four hungry kittens awaiting my arrival. I set up the trap, and the first kitten quickly entered, allowing me to close it promptly. After transferring the black kitten to a transport box, I reset the trap for a second round. Although I assumed the second one was female, we had to wait around 15 minutes to be sure. The smallest kitten, constantly surrounded by the others, confirmed our suspicion of her being female.
Following the same procedure, I transferred the captured kittens to the transport box, resetting the trap for the third time. A 10-minute wait yielded no results, and another 10 minutes passed with no success. After 30 minutes, the German woman enticed the male, named RAMBO, into the automatic trap, and we swiftly closed it. Despite his agitation, he accidentally scratched my leg—a consequence of the trap's proximity.
Unfortunately, luck eluded us with the fourth kitten, showing no interest in the tempting food within the trap. Reluctantly, I abandoned the effort and took the three captured kittens to Veronica, the vet. I retrieved them at around 3 pm, allowing them to recuperate in the warmth of the cat feeder's house. The German woman released the male in the afternoon, and the females were set free around 9 pm.
Tomorrow, my plan is to attempt trapping the remaining two elusive male cats in the area.

A delightful English couple, known for their immense love for cats, reached out to me in desperation.
They had been attempting to trap a neighborhood feline, under the belief that she was pregnant, persisting in their efforts for five weeks. Last week, I lent them our usual trap, but to no avail. The CumbreCat seemed only curious, observing with amusement as other cats ventured into the traps for food, unaware that they were already neutered.
Yesterday afternoon, I made another attempt, yet luck was not on my side. Nevertheless, this CumbreCat continued to watch the unfolding events, perhaps finding entertainment in the spectacle.
I refilled the traps a total of five times.
This morning, following the same routine, success finally graced me as the CumbreCat ventured into the trap, allowing me to swiftly close it with determination.
To our surprise, the assumed pregnant cat turned out to be a male! 😂 His distinctive behavior hinted at his true gender, and it was only confirmed upon trapping him.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the couple for their relentless efforts and for their willingness to transport the cat to Veronica and retrieve him afterward. Their kindness and compassion are truly admirable. Sharing such love for all living beings brings joy and warmth to everyone involved.
