TIME TO RETIRE
![]() |
Today I returned to the Dalias zone to try again to trap a mommy and one of her kittens from the little colony there. To my surprise, a big neutered tabby 😼 CumbreCat was a bad boy and went into the trap and ate all the food. Once I got rid of him, I had to wait around. Then after about 30 minutes a big black male cat strolled into my trap. He was an older boy and full of scratches, probably from defending his honour fights with other cats. I was sure that he was indeed the father of many kittens. Now that he has been to visit our village vet, he can start a new retired life. 🌟

Trapper's Update:
Last Monday morning, I was all set to trap this crafty mama cat who's been dodging me for a while. But wouldn't you know it, instead of her, her two grown-up kittens showed up! Talk about a twist!
I've got a solid partnership with the cat feeder in the area, and we had a plan. She cut back on feeding these two in the evening and gave them nothering in the morning to lure them into the trap.
These two weren't just gobbling up the bait though, they were playing it cool. It took about an hour of waiting, but eventually, the first little macho couldn't resist the temptation. Trapped him!
After sorting him out into a carrier box, I re-set the trap, and lo and behold, the second one falls for it in just 10 minutes.
Veronica, our trusty vet, did her thing with the boys, and I picked them up around 2 pm.
Boom! Two less fellas adding to the cat population explosion.
