APRIL 14, 2023 - TRAPPER & RAINBOW REPORTS

HAPPY AND PROUD!

Trapper Report

"This week we were finally able to capture and neuter Felice, who we know is a mother and grandmother.

Over the last 2.5 years, we have watched her give birth to at least 3 litters with a total of 8 surviving kittens. Twice she has brought them into our shed, and once under our bedroom window. We have caught and neutered all 8 of her kittens, but have never managed to catch Felice herself, who keeps hanging around our street and immediate area. She is so wild about any strange cat or dog that happens to be curious that she can defend herself and her kittens.

Over the last few days, she has been consistently hanging around near our car, our street and our garden. This week she was actually trapped! It was a surreal experience because she did not give a single cry, moan or outburst of protest during the drive to the vet. It was if she said, "Yes, I have made up my mind, enough is enough!"

Just half an hour before on the same morning, we caught the last of her daughters, who we named Negrita (guess why?), and we were really happy and proud. I took the photos to show how the ears are cropped.

Both have been neutered by ALIAGA because Veronica was on holiday."

TRAPPERS RAINBOW REPORT

"Last month, thanks to the quick cooperation between CumbreCats & Gato Felices, a very sick CumbreCat was sent over the rainbow to a better life.

A forwarded message from Pluto to Gato Felices to CumbreCats. from a Russian resident was a cry for help. He was feeding a black and white male cat who was badly injured. He asked us to help him and take the cat to the vet for treatment.

At first, it was a bit difficult. Everyone was too busy, but we were able to postpone all work and appointments to help this cat.

Equipped with the homemade PUT-DOWN-TRAP, a normal trap and a transport box, I and another trapper arrived at the house in Camelias. And it looked like the cat had been waiting for us.

The resident was able to get very close to the cat, and we explained to him what he had to do. We kept a little distance ... so that we did not disturb the cat.

It only took a minute to set the trap over the cat. We hurried with the transmitter and a blanket, and then we moved the cat step by step into the transport box.

We called ALIAGA in Moraira for help as it was already 4:30pm and Veronica, our local vet, was closed. The resident was very sad and felt that this cat had to be put down. He loved this CumbreCat so much, but we had to prepare him to say goodbye.

According to ALIAGA, there was no possibility of treatment, and they sent the cat on its final journey to end its suffering."
