BREAKING NEWS: CASANOVA HAS BEEN CAUGHT
Wednesday, January 26, 2022 was a busy day for the CumbreCats team.
Firstly, big thanks go to our community dog walkers who report CumbreCats in need. One of our team was walking her dog and informed the trappers about a big boy needing is baby-makers neutered over in the Pueblo de la Luz zone.
This macho is known to the team trappers as Casanova and the photo that our dog-walker friend took of him proved that he was out on the prowl chasing down the ladies. The CumbreCat female crowd had to hide in the trees just to escape his pursuits.
Flustered, one of our team members, who is also a caretaker and extreme cat lover, had been trying to catch Casanova for months!! This boy was always one step ahead of this trapper.
Fortunately, our team trapper was able to finally get him in her trap. What a grand success after so long.
The trapper took Casanova to Veronica our vet who was happy to finally see this famous boy in her office.
He was picked up after his operation and recovered to be released back to his zone. Now, he can hang out with the ladies as much as he likes without becoming a repeat offender. 😼
THE CHALLENGE BETWEEN WITS
On this same day, our head trapper was over in the Monte Cala zone with the aim to capture a beautiful female CumbreCat who was very intelligent and had eluded our trapper many times.
Trapper Report:
"I tried to trap her several times but every time she ate the tasty biscuits that I offered she would turn around and look at me as if to say, " I KNOW WHAT YOU WILL DO!". Then she would disappear.
There were many hungry neutered CumbreCats hanging around and they all knew me so I was able to pet them.
While I was busy doing this job, to my surprise, a gorgeous macho tabby tripped into my trap. He could not resist the tasty food on offer inside of it.
I took him to Veronica and picked him up again to release.
Later in the late afternoon, when I went to release him, I spotted the smart young lady hanging out with her best friend.
Luckily, I had my trap in the car. I immediately set it up with food pieces. Again, I had to lure away the neutered cats with biscuits.
Five minuets lady, the smart lady was in my trap. Success!!
She had to stay the night in my home until I could take her to Veronica the vet in the morning.
After her operation, she had to stay another night in my house because the night temperatures are too low. The next morning, when I returned to her home place, her friend was waiting and I could really recognize how happy they both were to be reunited again. Now they can enjoy their lovely friendship."
