CHRISTMAS ARTS & CRAFTS - FUNDRAISER REPORT

THANK YOU

CumbreCats Arts & Crafts Christmas Fundraiser was blessed with sunny, but at times windy, weather. That didn't stop the Spanish shortbreads, German Stollen bread, and English mincemeat tarts from being circulated to our guests as they browsed the creativity of our local artisans and gambled their luck on our Tombola.

Funds are still being collected from sources, but at the time of this report, we collected approximately 900 euros for the CumbreCats campaign. The exact result will be in the next funding report when the money is given to our partner Verónica the local vet. We record all funds with a giant receipt and photo.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Our local creative clay ceramics sensation, Ariane was hard at working showing guests how she prepares her statues. The demonstration is always interesting and our guests tend to order her items of which she shares her profits with the CumbreCats. Fantastic!

Sharing her table were the ladies from the workshop Amigas de Ceramicas. They brought out a variety of handmade items and many of them were cats creatures - from candle holders to bowls. Cat lovers were in for a grand treat as they could buy these one-of-a-kind gifts and the profits were again donated to the CumbreCats.

On the official CumbreCats table were the marvelous team of Tina & Mathias who have a children's book dedicated to the Cats of Cumbre as well as mugs, and handmade cards too. They were also selling the CumbreCats Community Cookbook and taking in donations. One lady went door to door in her neighbourhood and collected 169. euros in loose change!! How amazing!! Marianne was also helping out at this table by handing around some delicious German stollen bread full of raisins. Yummy!

Our Tombola Team was really busy and forgot to take pictures of the winners but busy is good! Margaret, Leah, and Doug were calling up the guests to try their luck and they were giving away some amazing prizes. All in good fun and friendly interaction!

We were very lucky to have the region's favourite stain glass artist at our event. JoJo is a pro! She had a buzz going at her table as guests got engaged in asking her about her work. She donated a gorgeous cat to our Tobola and she is donating a percentage of her sales too!! Excellent News!

Gorgeous Abstract artist and local resident Ursula exhibited a wonderful array of her fun and colourful paintings. She connected with guests who were wanting to see more of her work. She also had inquiries about teaching her skills to others in a workshop. She donated a fabulous cat abstract to our Tobola, which made a winner very happy!

Local pet portrait painter Robert and his lovely wife Pauline came out to support us again. Robert donated a painting that looked just like a real CumbreCat with an ear tag triangle and everything. Great Fun! Robert connected with our guests for whom he dd a commission and his cards, especially the cat painting cards, were very popular... as you can imagine! Hopefully, Robert will join us again!

A big Thank you to Trudi and Bruce who helped by handing out Christmas cookies to our guests. I donated one of my local history books to the Tombola and sold my Photography Collage gift cards of Cumbre del Sol and Moraira and donated proceeds to the CumbreCats. I had the social table, as usual, and we drank lots of coffee and chatted with everyone! ALL GOOD FUN!! Thank You!! Karla xx
