TRAPPING REPORT - MARCH 6, 2021

SPECIAL SUPPORTER STORY...

On Monday, February 22, 2021 - Radka, a CumbreCat supporter from Pueblo de la Paz who feeds the feral cats in her garden, was able to easily grab a female from the clan and put her in a carrier box to take to Veronica the vet.

Radka also picked up the cat and let it recover in her home before returning her to the colony. She also paid for the neutering so that the funds did not have to be taken from the CumbreCats money supply.

Radka is a special supporter who not only feeds and cares for the CumbreCats, but also pays for a neutering. This is an amazing person! Kindness plus!!

On Thursday, March 4, 2021 trapper Saskia ventured out at 8:00 hours to the Olivos colony.

According to Saskia, "The feeder had fed the neutered ones at 7:00, to ensure the undone ones would be hungry upon my arrival, which took a lot of cat herding! After having placed the trap near their hide out, the first one was inside within a minute. It looked to be a promising start of the day! It was a large macho who fell for the wonderful smell of the food.

The second trap was set up and after a little wait, the second cat was in. This time it was a beautiful female.

Both cats were delivered to the vet's at 9:00. Upon sterilizing the female, it was discovered she had just entered pregnancy (under 7 days). Whilst the macho was ready to go late afternoon, the female stayed till night time for her recovery. Both were returned to their usual hide out and we hope to see them around again soon, with a chipped ear this time!"
