Report by Andrea

A large macho had been active in our area of Olivos . He had many scars on his ears and had been a real fighter. But he was very easy to catch as he was starving and went into the trap straight away.
It was hard to see if his ear had already been tipped after neutering, but after investigating his rear end there was no doubt that he was an entire male. And he was extremely aggressive!

We took him to Veronica the vet at 11:00 and collected him 15:00.

Veronica's assistant Anouk told us not to release him before 19:00, or better still, he should be allowed to stay inside overnight as it was so cold. So he got to spend the night in our lovely, warm apartment.
Ted (as we called him) was cat number 80 that our team has helped, so he celebrated with sardines for supper!

When we released him this morning, he didn't thank us and was in a real hurry to leave. But from now on he will have a much more relaxed life up on Cumbre.

On Friday, January 15, 2021 -  MariPaz easily trapped one of the wild cats living around her bar /  restaurant on Cumbre.

After being neutered and picked up again from the vets, the female recovered at MariPaz hous. She was finally reunited with her kittens in a warm location.

"After a few litters, this Mom can now just enjoy her life on Cumbre", said Tina, head trapper.

GET INVOLVED - A COMMUNITY COOKBOOK to aid in raising funds for the Cumbre Cats Campaign.

The idea is to collect recipes from our lovely international neighbours and friends and fill a book full of fantastic recipes with ingredients sourced locally. Then we will have a fundraiser item to sell online and also we can print some and sell via outlets.

If you can contribute to this project then click the button below or in the navigation bar.
