TRAPPING REPORT - NOVEMBER 29, 2020
Tina decided to go over to Begonias. It was the goal to trap males because Veronica the village vet was very busy and males don't take up so much of her time.
As soon as Tina set up the trap, 10 black cats surrounded it and it was very difficult to know which cat had the baby makers hanging down. Luckily, Tina spotted a macho and filled the trap with some smelly tuna and he was very interested. He entered the trap, ate all tuna and strolled out again.
He watched Tina very carefully to see if she would refill the bowl with more tuna, which of course she quickly did. But, now other cats were appearing and wondering what was going on?
Fortunately, only the macho marched into the trap, touched the trigger and ate his snack. Success!!
Tina then went over to Encimas to try and trap the second male. Carefully but with interest, a black and white male appeared. He enjoyed the tasty tuna, touched the trigger and was trapped too.
By 8.30, Tina was ready to drop them to Veronica the vet.
Veronica and Anouk laughed out loud when Tina told them that she had two males. She said, "¿Cรณmo los quieres? Dos machos". Veronica said that she could fit then into her busy schedule.
At 12.15, Tina picked the up and after a sleep rest in her guestroom, she released them back to their zones.
On Thursday, November 26, 2020, our newest trapper Florence from Magnolias was able to capture not one, but two pretty white cats.
At 8:30, Florence went out to feed the colony, that she loves to take care of. She prepared two traps with the idea to trap two of the younger cats. This was not going to be easy, because an older mother cat was also very interested in the rich smelling food in the traps.
Florence was able to chase the older cat away and by 9:20, two lovely moon coloured boys were in their cages.
Florence dropped them both down to the vet and then picked them up around 12:30. After recovering in the house, she released them to their cat family.
