TRAPPING REPORT

On Wednesday, September 30, 2020, the trapping team of Jenny, Tina and Jacky set their sights on the zone of Monte Cala.

They started at 8:15 and set up three traps in different places along Calle Murillo.

The cats on this street are now getting use to the trappers and their tricks, so catching a cat is not so easy anymore.

It became a game of IN & OUT as one cat after another indulged on the food in the trap but then skirted the area around the trigger. Then, they would wait for the trappers to load up the trap with fresh snacks like tuna, sardines, wet food and biscuits.

Finally, around 10:00 a big strong boy swaggered into the scene. He observed the action and was unsure of how this game was played. Tina immediately moved the trap in his direction, and as an extra invitation, tossed another sardine in the trap. The macho could not resist and went for the sardine, but obviously learned how to play the game. It took more tries with tuna and wet food to finally get in comfortable in the trap. Twenty minutes later, the trappers heard a SNAP as his paw hit the trigger and the deal was closed.

The other cats that the team wanted to trap were just too smart or already neutered. So, they called it a day and Tina took the macho to Veronica the vet in town by 11:00.

Jenny picked him up at 13:00 and he relaxed at her house till 17:00 when he was returned to his home.
