TRAPPING REPORT
The Trapping Team are really rocking and rolling with two more cats in one trip to the vet.
The team this time was again Jenny and her daughter Evie with Tina our resident Trap Trainer. They were focused once again on Monte Cala. This time there were two males who found their ways into the capture. There was a black male and also a black/white male.
Morning seems to be a good time to trap. At 8.20 am Jenny and Tina each prepared one trap. Five Minutes later the black male, who the trappers know and named Beany Boo, smelled the seductive flavour of tuna and entered Tina's trap. He touched the trigger and that was him in the cage ready to go to the vets.
In Jenny's trap, she prepared it with wet cat food mixed with a little tuna this combo lured more cats, but they had already been neutered as their ears were tagged. So, with a little more patience and time a black/white male, also know to the trappers and named Oreo, came up to the trap and grabbed a big piece of food and trotter off and hid behind the corner of the building to eat his prize.
Luckily, he was still hungry and came back and slowly inched his way into the trap and started eating again but did not step on the trigger that shuts the door of the cage.
This is when the youngest team trapper, Evie, took action. She very calmly, slowly, quietly approached the cage and snapped the trigger with her hand.
Finally, after fifteen minutes, the cat was trapped and looked very shocked at Evie's ability to capture him too!!
Tina took the cats to the vet at 9:30
1pm Jenny fetched the cats for recovering in her home and they were released in the late afternoon.
