AMAZING HAPPY ENDING STORY

ONCE UPON A TIME... There was a Cumbre kitten who had a seriously bad life risking problem that needed a solution.

You can read the BACK STORY to this situation in a previous newsletter entitled : HELP - NEED LOVE FOR BABY - FAST!- click here!

The 5 week old and extra small kitten was taken to Veronica the vet in the village of Benitachell to be operated on. The little girl kitten needed a lot of care and treatment.

First, the inflammation had to cleared. This process took over a week to sort out with a lot of washing, drying, creaming and injections involved.

Finally, after a full week, Veronica felt it was time to operate.

The kitten was kept at the clinic for another week and given the best of nursing care and treatments. We were very pleased with the exceptional care that Veronica and her team gave to the baby and we were extra surprised with Veronica offered to save this kittens life at no charge!!! She said she did it to help the Cumbre Cats group but we know she has a good soul. * photo * Vet Veronica & Anouk

LEAVING THE CLINIC

As many of you know, we shared an announcement to help find someone to foster or give this kitten a home. Again and Again we reached out to the public but with no luck.

The little one was ready to leave the clinic.

Tina, one of founding trappers, decided to take her home to foster and maybe from there a loving home could be found. The kitten still needed nursing care because she had stitches and needed her bottom cleaned. She was a very sad and uncomfortable kitten. Plus, she still had the eye infection that needed to be washed daily and eyes bathed in chamomile tea and then eye drops.

Tina's heart was in full pumping mode when she visited the kitten at the clinic, but now taking care of of the tiny soul at her home meant that the love started to gush out!!

Tina remarks, "When the little one entered our house, she first stayed in her box and played with a little pillow filled with catnip. Then she discovered the mouse and didn't want to leave the carrier."

She continues, " Pepito, our one year old Spanish male cat was absolutely excited by the foreign cat smell and the little thing inside the carrier box, that he entered and started to sniff and kiss the little girl. Was it love at first sight? And our senor cat Justy, who is 15 years old accepted her, but for him, she is so naughty. *smile* "

HOME SWEET HOME

THEN another surprise!! Another male in the house fell in love with the kitten, this time of the human variety.

Tina continues, "We have named her FELI from Felicidad because my girlfriend Hancy (also a trapper) saw how happy the kitten was with us. Now she lives happily with us and we can't live without her.

Last Monday the 20th of July FELI got her stitches removed. Now she is really happy kitty full of life and playing non-stop with Pepito playing chasing games throughout the whole house.

All in all, the heartwarming story ended with a grand gesture of human compassion.
